My Favourite Book Chat This Year

My Favourite Book Chat

There were many book chats this year, but my favourite was The Someday Suitcase by far! It was written by Corey Ann Haydu. I think it was a very good book, because it had a really good message. This book is about Clover and Danny who have a friendship that Clover thinks is symbiotic, but suddenly Danny gets a mysterious disease and it changes Danny and Clover. They both seem to think that Clover helps Danny, and whenever Clover isn’t with him he gets worse and worse. It is a Family and Friendship book about two best friends and their journey. I would recommend The Someday Suitcase to people who like heartwarming story, and the age group would be year 4 to 6.

House Reading!

In house this week we read books in our buddy groups, to celebrate  Carey Celebrates Literature Week. Reading with my buddy was really fun. I liked hearing the different stories that we read. My buddy is really fun to be around and I enjoyed listening to her reading. We read the books, Happy Dreamer and Missing Marvin. I enjoyed both of them!

Do you like reading with your buddy or by yourself?

Fun With Mark Wilson

Two weeks ago we had the Carey Celebrates Literature Festival. I had a fun when Mark Wilson came in to talk to us and do a workshop. I found it really inspiring how he illustrates and hearing his amazing stories. As well as hearing him talk to us, we got to enjoy a fun and jam-packed workshop. I learned how to draw a silhouette with a step by step tutorial to teach us, at the end all the drawings were very different and special in there own way. I also enjoyed participating in the Carey Celebrates Literature Lunch Time Carnival commitee. My group decided to do a book lucky dip, where students were given a book at random, which they would borrow from the library. Doing that made me realise how much work and effort the teachers put in to teaching lessons. There were some things we could have improved on, but overall I think we fid a good job!

I really enjoyed the Carey Celebrates Literature Festival, and can’t wait for next year.

This is one of Mark Wilson’s books!

What is your favourite book, and have you read one of Mark Wilson’s books? Did you enjoy it?

A world of books

My favourite book genre is family and friendships, I like them because I  like listening to problems including families and friendships. I really like Wonder, Being Miss Nobody and Pax.

My favourite book chat book so far has been The Night Diary. I like it because I have already learnt a lot from it and it is very interesting. It is about in 1947 when India was divided into two countries, Pakistan and India, young girl Nisha and her family embark on a journey by train and by foot to find their new home in India.

If you wrote a book what genre would you write? I know I would write

 family and friendships.
