Fun With Mark Wilson

Two weeks ago we had the Carey Celebrates Literature Festival. I had a fun when Mark Wilson came in to talk to us and do a workshop. I found it really inspiring how he illustrates and hearing his amazing stories. As well as hearing him talk to us, we got to enjoy a fun and jam-packed workshop. I learned how to draw a silhouette with a step by step tutorial to teach us, at the end all the drawings were very different and special in there own way. I also enjoyed participating in the Carey Celebrates Literature Lunch Time Carnival commitee. My group decided to do a book lucky dip, where students were given a book at random, which they would borrow from the library. Doing that made me realise how much work and effort the teachers put in to teaching lessons. There were some things we could have improved on, but overall I think we fid a good job!

I really enjoyed the Carey Celebrates Literature Festival, and can’t wait for next year.

This is one of Mark Wilson’s books!

What is your favourite book, and have you read one of Mark Wilson’s books? Did you enjoy it?

Year 5 market!

This year we did the year 5 market! I had a lot of fun and would definitely do it again. I think that everyone enjoy their self, and that my team worked really hard. My team where in communicating, using our knowledge, and cooperating.  I think that everyone enjoy their self, and that my team worked really hard. My team where were communicating, using our knowledge, and cooperating.  We were challenged when we couldn’t work out how the garland worked, but we solve the problem by hanging up dream catches. I wish good luck to the coming year fives, and I hope you have lots of fun.  Here is my group’s poster:

Carey Fairies for the Win!

Doing netball for term 2 APS was a dream! I had lots of fun! I really enjoyed spending time with my  amazing team, and cool coach! I can’t imagine not having netball for APS.

We have gone against other schools and had a netball game, sometimes we have travelled so far, but we have a blast playing netball! So it is definitely worth the time of the bus trips!

I love netball sooo much, especially when I play with good friends, there has been ups and downs, but we always enjoy ourselves. I’ve learnt so much and enjoyed the whole experience. My team has won all our games so far, and I know it isn’t about that, but I am still very proud of us!

If you did do netball did you enjoy it? And if you didn’t would you consider playing netball?

Amazing term 1

I loved my first term at my new school. I have enjoyed every single minute.

So far I have loved doing sessions for our integrated topic, the year 5 market. I really enjoy on Wednesdays and Thursdays doing aps, such as rock climbing, swim intensive, bike Ed, and triathlon.

I really like spending time with the people surrounding me at school and have made a lot of wonderful friends.

I have been challenged a lot in aps, in the triathlon, but I kept trying and got to the end, I was really proud of myself for persisting,  trying my hardest, and never giving up.

I have learnt a lot of new things in Maths because I get pushed and pushed and it challenges me to keep going and try my hardest. I learnt a lot about gratitude and that we are so lucky to have what we have, and that not many people have what we have. We also have a lot to do with the PLA’s, some of them are; imagination, creativity, resilience and more.

I really enjoy it here and I love my new teacher Misty! I have had a great term 1, and I  am looking forward to next term!

A world of books

My favourite book genre is family and friendships, I like them because I  like listening to problems including families and friendships. I really like Wonder, Being Miss Nobody and Pax.

My favourite book chat book so far has been The Night Diary. I like it because I have already learnt a lot from it and it is very interesting. It is about in 1947 when India was divided into two countries, Pakistan and India, young girl Nisha and her family embark on a journey by train and by foot to find their new home in India.

If you wrote a book what genre would you write? I know I would write

 family and friendships.
